About the South Carolina Bankers Association

 

The South Carolina Bankers Association has proudly served South Carolina's banking industry for 104 years.  SCBA is the professional trade association organized to effectively represent the common interest and welfare of banks and thrifts in South Carolina.

 

The SCBA employs a full-time staff of professionals dedicated to carrying out every phase of our Strategic Plan as established by the Board of Directors.  It is the mission of the South Carolina Bankers Association to provide Legislative, Regulatory, Educational, Technology and Product Leadership on behalf of its members.  In fulfilling its mission, the SCBA's role is to promote unity among its members and to provide them a forum for discussion and policy setting.

 

The Association operates on a daily basis to provide to our membership the seven objectives as outlined in the Strategic Plan.  They are:

 

(1)  Define and promote a legislative and regulatory environment that will allow the banking industry to be the market leader of financial services.

 

(2)  Serve as the principal industry voice on banking issues and aggressively promote the impact and contribution of banks and thrifts to South Carolina and respective communities.

 

(3)  Provide Educational assistance to members.

 

(4)  Assist the SCBA Membership in evaluation, selection and implementation of value added services.

 

(5)  Foster economic growth and development in the state of South Carolina.

 

(6)  Stimulate unity and fellowship among the members.

 

(7)  Maintain and enhance SCBA's strength in a consolidating bank market.
